You know how it says that the recommended weight loss is one pound per week. Do most people do the recommended track or do they try for 1 1/2 pounds or more?

I have mine set to lose 1lb a week, this is the minimum I would be happy to lose, I'd prefer to lose 2lb but would be very upset if I didn't.

I don't want to do it too quickly as I know I would be more likely to put it back on.

I can't afford to put the weight back on, slowly but steadily is the best way.

Interestingly enough, I was just reading some new information yesterday on a medical website about this. The upshot is: slower is better. Going on too strict of a diet makes your body seriously fight back- and it keeps fighting back for a LONG time after you lose, making it really hard to keep it off. They now have lots of chemical evidence to support that. So much so that the primary care doctors are talking about NOT telling patients to go on a diet...

    Stick with slow, be patient...
