Losing by eating more

I know there's a whole thread out there about those who have lost by eating more - if you're one of those, I'm curious as to what your BMR is and whether or not you take your TDEE into account when calculating your daily calories?
Im 5'7" and 153lbs. My goal is 140. When I had my body fat tested I was told my ideal weight is 149. My BMR is 1605 and my calories have been set at 1600 since Sep. I tried to zig zag to be even at the end of the week. More often than not I was over and have been pretty much maintaining. I tend to lose and gain the same two to three pounds. The closest I've been to that goal is 151.6.
I'm terrified to increase my calories too much as I'd really hate to have to lose it again! It's such a mind game! That's why I'd like to see what works for others.
