My sister has lung cancer and has had her right lung removed back in July.
She has since undergone chemo and gained over 80 pounds.
Her chemotherapy is now finished and she is wanting to lose the weight she has gained but is unsure of what exercise would be best.
She is going to talk to our local gym this week but as I was wanting to hear from others if they have had any experience with lung cancer patients who have lost a lung.

She should go to a rehab oriented gym that has medical professionals on staff. They have the ability to do pre-assessments, proper recommendations and monitor her workouts. She should definitely not set one foot in a gym without talking to a doc.

I personally know two people who have had a lung removed due to cancer. Both of them were able to exercise and get fit. But as a previous poster said, definitely have her work with her medical team and get their ok and recommendation for a gym that specializes in medical rehab as she has many considerations, as I'm sure she knows.
