I am looking for advice on how to successfully cut my fat without losing too much muscle. Right now I am sitting at about 35% body fat and want to cut down to 10%. To do this, I'm going to have to lose 50lbs of fat! I hit a major plateau and have been stuck at the same weight for the last 2 months! So, three days ago I decided that I needed to make some drastic changes so I cut my carb intake down to 100g per day. I noticed that my energy levels and strength in the gym are floored! Am I doing this right? Anybody out there with some pointers?

Here's a link from a livestrong discussion board with a ton of great information about this, I have been researching all week and this is the best information I have found so far. Good luck!

  • meal 1 ...........1 cup steel cut Oatmeal, 1 scoop protein shake, flax seed oil
meal 2.......... 7 scrambled egg whites with asparagus and cinnamon
meal 3.......... 4oz chicken, 2 cups green salad incl spinach, 1/2 oz almonds
meal 4.......... 5 oz tuna fish with 1/3 cup black beans and 2 cups mixed veg
meal 5......... .4 oz chicken with 2 cups salad, olive oil flav dressing
meal 6............vanilla greek yogurt with a scoop of protein powder and 4 strawberries

I also take in a multi vitamin supplement, vit c supplement. I take BCAA as well. I am cutting right now for competition, I do eat more fruit and high glycemic carbs on the off season. When i'm very close to comp..I drop the yogurt and strawberries and replace with a water protein shake, casein based.
