You can catch the 'fat' disease- apparently

Okay so a friend recommended a really interesting documentary to me, which I shall recommend to you all. Its called "why thin people are not fat" and you can find it on youtube in parts easily. Its basically an experiment where they got naturally thin people and put them on a diet double their usual calorie intake and the results were quite interesting, since every body has a "natural" weight it will keep coming back to, but whatever you can see it for yourself.
A very interesting thing in the documentary was the theory that there is a virus that makes you fat. And it has been through a lot of research, so its quite believable. You can literally 'catch' being fat.
Any thoughts? heres an old article I found on it

I've read about a similar study and they found that the naturally thin people fidgeted and moved about more in the cube that measured their energy. They had a bed and tv I think and coud do what they wanted in it, they were all fed the identical amount.. the ones that stayed mainly on bed sleeping and watching telly gained weight (no surprises there!) the others were natural fidgets and would be doing stuff like exercising on floor press ups etc or pacing around or just still fidgeting while sat.
You don't have to do structured exercise to lose weight if you move enough naturally. I have friends with athetoid CP who are sat in wheelchairs all day for all their lives, but cos of the rate they move due to the involuntary movements they are all thin, none overweight, many under, one I know has never eaten a vegetable in her life she doesn't like them!.. but she's stick thin as her body never stops moving. ... so fidget your calories away... lol!
Incidentally I have a neurological condition that is progressive and causes more involuntary movement as its progresses its still classed as mild for me but I am losing much quicker than when I was first trying to get down from 16st when it first started but my thyroid was also playing up... my body does seem to need more energy just to get through the day so I cut white carbs so it has to convert it from complex carbs, using more energy to do that.
Someone said on here that they worked with a guy with Huntingdons and it was their job to feed him 6,000 cals a day to match the energy his body used in involuntary movement! I can burn an extra 1,000 if the muscle spasms are particuarly bad or if I exercise as well that day... I think my prob is I'm sometimes not eating enough and the deficit is ending up too large especially on day I'm burning an extra 500-600 in exercise.
The message is MOVE AND LOSE I guess!0
