I just started tracking foods. I was reading about weighing and measuring, I have found this helpful. A typical bowl of cereal I was having is 3 servings. I am also trying to eat lunch at work, so I am not starving when I get home. I get so busy at work, I was usually skipping lunch and eating tons when I got home. I really like online tracking so far. I am nervous about eating out - with all the hidden fats and sugars.

Hi there! I am new too. Only been on board for about 5 days now. I know what you mean about portion sizes. Had same issue here with serving up more than what would be consider a serving sz. So now I am really paying close attention to portion and recommended serving sizes. As far as eating out. If you know in advance where you are going to dine you can often find their menu on line and then, if they do not already have the nutritional values of specifics meals/ dishes on their menu there are actually other calorie counter sites online that do. Here is one of my favorite sources.
