I'm a single mom to a very hyper 2 and half yr old boy. He has a heart arrhythmia and sleep apnea. Needless to say the only time I get solid sleep is when he stays with friends and family for a sleep over. Which i feel bad doing because well he doesnt sleep. I only have a few hours after work to spend time with him before bed. So i feel bad doing anything else with my time. Any ideas of how to sneak exercise in at work (im a manager at a spa) or little ways to burn calories that dont include a gym?

Does your son's condition dramatically affect his fitness and ability, or could you spend those few hours you get with him doing something active such as taking him for a walk, kicking a ball around or going for a swim?
  • I don't know if your office can accomodate this, but I run stairs on my breaks... throw on a pair of tennis shoes....
  • His condition makes him super hyper but living in Michigan right now its kinda cold to take him outside and do many things out there. We cant even build snow men since Its only snowed once here so far this year =( My office is only a 1 level building. I try to get up and walk around and do cleaning but were all really good about keeping it clean so theres usually not much to pick up.
