My husband bought the iBook version of "Choose to Lose" and was impressed, so he suggested it to me. It's an easy read... finished in a few hours. I'm already eating nearly like Chris suggests, without the cycling part. Also, it is rare for me to eat any grains, so adding them back in will be interesting. I've been sick with a mysterious allergic reaction, and I haven't been able to go food shopping for the new things I'll be adding in or chop/cook/portion my meals. In the mean time, I'm looking to join up with like-minded folks & search for recipe/menu ideas, since the book *is* pretty skimpy in that area. I followed the link supplied above and joined the group... see you there!

  • I have been attempting to start Chris' theory, but I still have a couple of questions:
    - On cheat day, can you do anything you want? Don't worry about eating times, or how much water, fats and carbs together, etc??
    - On a low carb day, you are still allowed carbs in the morning. Are you allowed to have a fat with them?

If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated!

Also - if anyone wants to share meal/day plan ideas for his diet, it would be very helpful!

    Thanks! ;)

I did the plan for a couple of months this fall. I definitely lost on it. For me, it was awesome. It helped changed the way I thought about food...and I am a total believer in the whole "stoking the fire" business. I have barely gained anything back. I go back and forth in the 4 - 6 lbs range which, in my opinion, is no big deal. I'm a woman and my weight will always fluctuate a little bit. I have some medical stuff going on, but as soon as I finish a couple of tests this week, I'm starting back on this plan on the 27th. I have 50lbs left to lose and hope to do it by the end of the summer.

I started today. I am 172 lbs, 5'9", 57 yrs old. My goal is 145 lbs. I chose this diet because the only diet I have ever lost weight on is LA Weight Loss, the idea being that I ate more food than I ever thot possible and was amazed. However, I am not going to pay them or buy their sugar laden products. This is the same principal but with cleaner food. I will post my progress in a few days.
  • I just bought the book and I am very excited to give it a try. Any success stories out there?
