Stuck!!!

So my CW is 149, SW was 170.....my GW is 130 and I would REALLY like to reach this by July 2009 in time for bathing suit season! I have not budged since Feb 5th and I know that the last few pounds are harder to get rid of than the first few. My main problem area is my midsection from having 2 kids, my abs feel rock hard underneath all the flub, but can't seem to get rid of the flub?
I go to the gym 5 times a week, I do strength training classes and on my own, step classes, pilates twice a week and 30 Day Shred & Cardio Max at home when I can't make it to the gym. My eating habits are in check - need something maybe to change things up, MFP dropped me down to 1280 cals per day now since I'm 1/2 way to my goal, I guess they think this is the only way I'll get to where I need to go?? Does anyone think that maybe that's too few cals, I have mixed feelings about it...so far it seems to be working and when I exercise I always try to eat all my extra cals, but it is possible that maybe 1280 is too low?
Any thoughts/tips appreciated!!
Happy Friday everyone!:flowerforyou:

Hi. I am new to the site, but I have been on the dieting and exercise roller coaster for years! Right now, my scale is at a standstill....which is another reason I joined. I needed to see exactly what I was eating, etc.
I would look at your food intake and see if maybe you need more protein? And then it could be possible that you are eating too few calories and your body isn't letting go of anything. You could always add another healthy snack during the day and see what happens after a week. Or you need one cheat day......just to eat anything. Then the next day get back on track......this over load of calories will jump start your body to burn more. Sometimes that works for me! I have read that Body for Life book....and they recommend one day of no exercise, and eating whatever you like?!?!?! Personally, this isn't something I can do all the time...but it might work.
Good luck!!!0 -
I would agree with with adding more protein. I just started P90X this week and am doing the diet with it which is 50% protein for the first month. In the last 4 days, I've dropped about 4lb. I've been drinking 2 protein drinks a day - 1 in the afternoon, 1 after supper. It's about 110 cal/shake mixed with water.
Hope it helps. I was stuck at 141 since Jan until I did this.0 -

Maybe that's what I need to do, go buy a protein powder to add a little more to my day. I'm usually always over my Protein & Fibre everyday....but maybe a little more wouldn't hurt. I was also looking into some all natural supplements, not sure if anyone has used them or heard of them?? LEAN+ & ABS+?? I've looked them up and ABS+ is basically just like CLA, the extra Omega fatty acids that help burn the fat cells that are harder to break down. And the Lean+ is more to target your muscle growth which you need to burn fat.0 -
I think 1280 may be too low for that level of fitness, honestly. If this happened to me, I'd try cutting BACK on the exercise for a week, then start a new routine and mix things up. It sounds like your metabolism just adjusted and you need to "surprise" it.0

IT MOVED!!! The scale actually moved this morning....I woke up feeling a little different and low a behold I'm down another pound. I know it's not much, but it's one pound closer to my goal. Thanks for the support everyone!! Not sure what I did differently, maybe i've just gotten over my plateau?!?!:bigsmile:0

Always increase your excercise time or intensity when you hit a plateau or do a different type of workout...it really helps to get over those hurdles:drinker:0
