should I wait to work out?

I recently had a strange experience involving caffeine and alcohol which caused me to wake up in the middle of the night with a racing pounding pulse that took several hours to return to anything close to normal. I didn't feel good for several days after so this past Monday I went to the doctor and I had some blood work done and I wore 24 hour heart monitor. I asked my doc about working out and she said if my tests come back normal I should get back to my routine. She said if there was a problem detected on any of the tests, I would get a phone call right away otherwise I would get a card in the mail. Well, I haven't heard anything and now it's Saturday so I won't hear anything until Monday. I feel fine now, just tired. I think it's safe to assume the tests were normal otherwise I would have heard back by now... I'm not sure if I should get back to working out yet or wait until I hear for sure. I really think I'm tired from lack of exercise. Anyone had anything like this ever happen to them? any thoughts here?

Personally I'd wait to hear from the doctor. You long term health is way more important than a couple of missed workouts.
Even if they come back normal you'll want to talk to the doctor about what was wrong, so I personally wouldn't take any risks.

If I wanted to get back to the gym, I would call my doctor's office or send an online message. A nurse could probably get you a definitive answer in a day or less.0
