Swimming

I try and swim at least 5 days a week. My target is 64 lengths of my local 25metre pool, which is approx 1 mile, and takes me 43 minutes. I sometimes only do 30 lengths though.
I did used to go to the gym for an hour and then swim straight afterwards, but have piled on the pounds lately and this seems to be affected my knee, which I presume is due to my weight gain. I haven't been to the gym now for about 3 months. I do love cycling, but only tend to do this in the warmer months, usually about 10 miles a day for 5 days a week.
So I'm just wondering, is this amount of swimming enough exercise, or should I be going to the gym as well?
