    Jeannie you have always had inspirational information, words of wisdom, great advice.
    Any person who messages you back with yawns... Has more problems than any of us.. Their problems go much deeper than excess weight... If they don't know what a great person your are and continue to be rude they won't have anyone to lean on... They surely will fail at anything with that attitude.

    That ahh, really? I'm kind of speechless. Would someone really do something like that? I mean, 6 year olds do that kind of stuff. I'm dumbfounded.

    While I left at one point too, it wasn't because of harassment, it was because of a perceived feeling in general and I was a little worn out.

    Next time that happens to one of you guys, give me a jingle, I have a few tricks up my hacker sleeve that might put a nasty little thumbtack on their virtual chairs! :devil:

    We all have to remember that we are posting on the internet and tone and inflection can not be accounted for, like when speaking face to face or over the phone.............

    Not speaking on people saying mean things or demeaning things to someone................

    I think sometimes people on the internet take things out of context more easily and people get way to upset to fast.............

    Debating a topic and both sides presenting their information is GOOD!!

    I wouldn't tolerate someone saying demeaning things to me though, there is a difference.

    I agree 100%. I've been a victim of that very thing and got jumped by a few people who misunderstood my lame attempt at humor, so, I'm VERY careful, now, when I'm in a forum, about every single word I type.

    Yes 'tone' is an issue. What I dealt with was someone who was angry, and deliberatly stalked my posts.

    This was a very mean thing to do, and in my opinion was an attempt to oust me from the site.

    I did nothing to this person, but for some reason they felt threatened.

    We are all dealing with real life crud.

    I try to come on here and be a positive force. I dont take all words with a pound (not a grain) of salt.

    me too. i really messed up on another board, questioning whether or not a website and legally posted video footage. i implied that they intentionally looked for legal loop holes to post it. it was a half joke in my mind. then some else on the board called me out on it. i went back and reread what i wrote. it was not at all how it sounded in my head!! i apologized to the offended party's and made nice. it was a huge lesson for me on forums in general. people read things differently so type carefully. also, people will read it before you can delete it, so consider that once you post it you can never take it back.

    I am sorry that you had to go through that- The person that did that to you must not have had a life to be able to follow you on every thread- Can we say childish- Don't let people get you down-- You can't make everyone happy and some people are just jealous- People like that I like to call them my Haters- I use that as my motivation- And it makes me feel famous-
    Haters are jealous people that want to be like you. So just smile and keep moving forward knowing that they can't do it like you.

    Yeah, I saw that with my very first forum post. I was wondering if there was any point in editing it once I'd posted it, since that was an option given, but I decided that there wasn't much point if it was already being read by gazillions.

    I've got someone who pretended to be 'concerned' and 'interested' in me enough to get part of my life story out of me and then turned it on me, being all judgemental and making it sound like I was so much crap as a human, AFTER I accepted them as a 'friend'. I'm learning as I go on MFP to read profiles and forum posts before accepting any more 'friends'.

    Thank goodness our email addresses are safe.

    yep, i'm not a big fan of deleting posts. 'think before you type' is my motto! and 'everyone on the internet could really be a 10-yr-old boy, so don't take them too seriously... even me'

    that is true as well- but in reality we don't know the people we are talking to from a can of paint and its best to keep things fairly civil- and not bash people for different views/opinions-

    Yes, I had someone to get upset with me recently for doing just that..................

    God, I don't agree and posted opposing evidence in to what they were saying..........Be an adult.

    I'm really sad to see such a divide between the members of the board lately.
    While I agree that everyone has their own opinion and if you come to the board asking for advice, you should be able to deal with opposing views, there's no reason to flat out bash people.
    I'm okay with honesty, but I'm not okay with the lack of sensitivity that has been displayed recently.
    Actually I don't really post as much as I used to because of it, and that isn't how the site should be.

    I've really enjoyed your posts and your replies to threads. You have much insight and are very helpful.
