not jerks as in "people" but jerks as in spasms or little twitches in muscles. when i lie down to go to sleep at night, i get these little muscle twitches. i'm not falling asleep, but just in a resting state. all of a sudden, my thigh muscle will "jump" or "jerk" for like half a second. my husband said it's because i'm not drinking enough water during my work-outs. not sure if this is the right location for this question, but just curious. i'm a little concerned b/c it happens in all parts of my body, arms, eye lids, legs, etc. just worried about a muscular disorder. (yes, i tend to over-think and worry) thanks for any input.

I think I've been getting similar things, but mine re more like twitches which can last about 20 secs. Am hoping someone has an answer!

i guess i need to add that i'm relatively new to working-out. started in august, and it's the first time i've had a regular exercise routine in my life. so overall, my muscles are still adjusting.

Do you drink enough water and do you stretch before and after a workout?

Now this maybe urban legend or an Ol' wives tale, so heheh take it with a grain of salt. I've heard that the 'Jerks' that happen as your falling asleep are your bodies visceral reaction to falling asleep, and the twitches are a way to verify life... to your body... Lol.. and now that I am typing it out it sounds like some serious garbage... :)

I'm gonna run with fatigue. And with water!!!

P.s. The other day I woke with the tip of my tongue numb and started think neurological disorders. When I was really eating sunflower seed the day before and pinching the tip of my tongue over and over with those darn seed! Over reaction happens to the best of us!

it's not when i'm falling asleep, i am actually wide awake, i only notice it when it's time for bed and my body is at rest. i feel like i drink enough water, but i probably don't stretch as much as i should. thx for the input.
