It took me a long time to realize this but, I finally realized that if I want to lose weight and keep it off I am going to have to do it myself. I have pretty much tried EVERY fad diet, diet pill ect out there. Each thing i have tried might have resulted in some weight loss but i was never able to maintain the weight loss. My goal for this year is not only to lose weight but also to tone up and maintain weightloss. what are some fad diets/ pills you have tried?
Mine include
ultra 90
17 day diet
6 week body make over
hydroxycut
some sort of pills by one of the guys on biggest loser
several types of green tea pills
and serveral others

I've never used pills or fad diets because I've always known they don't work.0

Now, not that this means anything so please don't take it the wrong way, but I've never been on any kind of diet or tried those fads. I first started half-heartedly dieting but I did it by cutting the calories and working out, only to go back to my old ways soon after because I didn't really want to lose the weight. No 'fad diets' involved, but no real desire to lose weight, and that set me back. Once I truly wanted to lose weight, my lifestyle changed instantly.
I've seen friends go on these fad diets time and time again. I've seen those same friends fail time and time again, putting on more and more weight and then trying a different one or going back to the same one because it was 'working until they gave up'. Those same people were the ones who commented on my slow weight loss and the occasions I'd eat chocolate, or criticised the fact I still consume a lot of carbs, and who told me I should really try the diet they were on.
I found that even if I explained to them that I'd changed my lifestyle and wasn't on a diet, I'd get comments along the lines of 'but you're losing weight so slowly!'. Different strokes for different folks, but those crash diets and fads aren't for me. I saw how ill they made others, and how many times they keep having to 'try again'.0 -
I have always known that they do not work, but of course i have desired instant results. I realize that its going to take a life style change and that is the purpose of this topic0

Good for you for realizing that those things don't work. I have tried most of the same things that you have in an attempt to find the quick fix or magic pill that would let me eat whatever I wanted and still lose weight. I just wish that I had all that money I spent on all that crap in the meantime...LOL! It really is all about life style and now that we know that we can do anything. Good luck to you in your journey!
