Hi everyone.

Ok. So I'm adjusting the settings in my food log to reflect 45% to 65% carbohydrates, 20% to 35% fat and 10% to 35% protein.

Now I'm thinking about daily sugar intake. How much is the limit for sugar? Right now my settings say 27g and I can't find a definite answer online in grams.

If anyone knows that would be great so that I can adjust. All I hear lately is how "sugar converts into fat" so I want to stay away as much as possible. :)

Thanks Everyone!!!! Have a great day! :):)

I think for most people, sugar isn't actually that huge of a deal. EVERYTHING converts to fat, if you have too many calories. Sugar isn't unique in that regard.

Personally, due to some health issues, I have mine set to 30 g. I have friends who set theirs to 50. I think it all depends on your personal health needs.

I keep it where it is - all carbs do is convert to sugar, so you've already limited them in a way.......I would say though - spread them out throughout the day and make sure to combine them with protein and fibre to reduce the impact they have on your blood sugar.

Sugar doesn't quite convert into fat, but it does get stored as body fat as a result of an insulin reaction - so it's about stabilizing your insulin reactions. By combining the intake of sugar with protein and/or fibre, you modify the absorbtion of the sugar into the blood stream, causing your insulin reaction to be minimized......

You'll find too many things have sugar in them to limit it much more than 27g reasonably.... I think it sounds like a reasonable place to be. But if you find that you can go lower, then by all means do. I think the recommendation for diabetics is somewhere in the 30g region...
