I really want to lose forty pounds before summer. Is that possible?

Without knowing your starting weight, its not a question that can be answered. If you weight 350, then yeah, losing 40 pounds in 4 or so months is very do-able. If you weight 140, then no, probably not... At least not without starving yourself.0

Definitely. June is five months away, making your weight loss about 8 pounds a month/2 pounds a week... If you are working out and lifting weights, your metabolism will help you out tremendously. Build muscle! You may not see the scale move immediately, but the muscle helps burn calories, so don't be afraid of it!

Starting 220
At 220 its totally do-able. I started 1/1/08 at 225 and by 6/8/08 I was 177 pounds (just looked it up!) so thats 48 pounds You just have to be serious, and have a plan. Plan out your meals daily, and make sure you have time for your exercise. Eating right is great, but you gotta get your butt in the gym!!!!0 -

Starting 220

I spend about an hour and a half at the gym, monday through friday, saturday I do work out dvds and play wii, sundays are suppose to be my rest days, but I've been playing wii. I'm actually thinking about going to the gym monday through saturday..0 -

I think it is great to have a goal, but understand that every persons body loses at a different rate, and try not to focus on the quick fixes at the expense of a healthy change in lifestyle. You dont want to be skinny fat anyway
But with some discipline and hard work, it is certainly not an impossible goal!0 -
