How do I calculate fried food?

Yes, yes, before I even start this post, I know fried food is evil and I shouldn't even be eating it. But we do occasionally go over to the dark side and eat something fried. As a general rule, I have just doubled the calories from the recipe when something is fried but does anyone know any guidelines for calculating how many calories frying a food really adds?

Its very hard to determined the calories when frying a food...however, the most accurate way is to measure the oil, fry the food, then remeasure the oil. The difference is the amount of oil that saturated the food. Its a pain is the *kitten*, but its really the only way to get a close estimate :-)0

That seems like a good idea. Did you come up with that yourself?
