Hi,

I just found this app a few days ago. My goal is to lose 50 lbs, but even 20 or 15 would help. I'm trying to get pregnant again after 2 miscarriages and feel like being too heavy isn't helping things.

I hate exercise and am a busy wife and mother already. I'm going to try to stick to the 1200 cals a day but yikes! That's not many.

So what options do working ladies have for diet breakfasts and lunches? I eat them mostly at work and I really am not organized enough to pack the right foods consistently. Is there a restaurant chain with low Cal satisfying options? How about frozen diet meals, are they all gimmicks?

If anyone has strategies I'd love to hear all ideas. Ps- I am sedentary and 5'2" with a needy husband and kid. Probably how I got into this fix.

Thanks pals!

  • having a baby is part of why i'm doing this too. I'm getting married married in october and we want to start a family right away but i've had several miscarriages in the past(an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone in a million years).

I've found that Amy's organic frozen meals are great for work! And too expensive either, find them in the frozen foods section! Also, packaged salads are great, and will last for a few servings over a couple days or so. I'm 5'4, currently sedentary, trying to be more active, with a needy partner and animals! You can do this!!

If you can keep things in the fridge (if they have one) at work and have a toaster there, for breakfast I normally have a piece of toast with a little peanut butter, or a yogurt.
Also Subway is an easy low cal place to go just watch the sides and sauces.
It will take a couple days to get the hang of this but it is worth it!

Welcome! My hubby and I have been trying for 3 years, so I'm hoping that maybe droping the weight will help us out.

I am terrible about eating breakfast, but then I'm starving before lunch. I've been working on eating in the mornings more lately. I keep a package of stringcheese in the fridge at work. And try to have some sort of fruit on hand. Then I can just grab the fruit and the cheese to snack on. Special K cereal is quick and healthy. Also instant oatmeal isn't the best for you, but it is better than not eating anything, and you can keep packets in your desk. I know some people make big batches of the better oats, steel cut, that help keep you full and are healthier. Package them up and in single servings in the fridge to grab quick. I also love Subway for breakfast, if you have the money. I go maybe once a month. Western eggwhite muffin with ham, peppers, and tomato. Salt and pepper, no sauces.

Thanks for all the tips guys! I will def. Try the Amy's foods... I keep seeing them and wonder if they are worth it.

I'm surprising myself and doing great so far. Actually coming off so fast that I'm a bit worried. About 4# in my first week. I hope that's normal.

I startoff my day with a slim fast shake and then mid morning have a Michelina's breakfast pocket. By lunch I am satisfied with my weightwatchers cabbage soup and mid afternoon have a lean cuisine Thai roll up. I like hot foods.

Dinner at home is still difficult, because everyone is a carb addict. I keep eating more salad and skip the potatoes, but I can't do that forever, I am not all that into salad.

Any more ideas please let me know!

Has anyone found a restaurant that won't break the calorie budget? I know subway is mentioned, any sit down places?

Applebees has the under 500 calorie menu. If you save throughout the day it is easy to meet this. I think I got a grilled chicken skillet thing and it was delicious and more like 400 cals. yummmmm
I have only just begun but I have been able to stay under and I work 9 hours a day. Here is what I have been doing:

8:00am - Light and Fit Toasted Vanilla Coconut Yogurt - 80 Cals
10:00am - 1/2 and Thomas Cranberry Bagel with 2 TBSP of Weight Watcher Whipped Cream Cheese - 190 cal
12:00pm - Equate Vanilla Ultra Weight Loss Shake (Kinda like slim fast d special k just cheaper) - 170 Cal
    2:00pm - Special K Craker Chips (SOOOO GOOD) 27 chips - 110 Cal
4:00 pm - Specail K Snakc Bar (Chocalte Pretzel is amazing! ) - 90 Cal
6:00pm - One Serving of whatever we are having for dinner - I have about 500 left over for this
8:00 pm - Fiber One Light Brownie (if I want sweets) - 90 Cal

I hope this helps! Please friend me if you would like :)
