Although i have just started on this programme, i am trying to reach my goal of 900 calories for my daily limit. By logging each of my meals and snacks, i seem to be having no difficulty in reaching it. Of those calories consumed, what percentages should i be getting from protein, carbs or fat ?

900 calories is an awfully low limit...is there a reason you chose that number?

The body cannot subsist on only 900 calories per day. Not only will you crap out your metabolism, but you will be condemning yourself to this rate for the rest of your life. What is keeping you from at least 1200 calories per day? I understand wanting to loose weight quickly, but this is not a healthy way to do so.

There are many reasons. The first being is that by the beginning of Apr, i have a number of family functions which i need to look my best for. The second is that i am an all or nothing person and need instant gratification. I know this sounds silly as i know it will take a long time to lose this amount of weight. Of course, i wish to remain healthy whilst doing it. Thanks for your response. Another quick question: what is a weekly calorie deficit?

Weekly calorie deficit is the number of calories per week that you should have eaten but did not. This site will calculate how many calories you need to lose no more than 2 lbs per week. Losing more that that is not only unheathy but unwise. I understand wanting to be at a certain size or weight by a certain date, but you are dooming yourself by trying to over-do a healthy weight loss plan. Take it from me, I have been there and done that.

Thanks very much for all your input. I will amend my calorie intake to the recommended 1200 per day. How then do I know how many fats, carbs, sugars, proteins is sufficient on my daily allowance?

Good idea! If you do it this way, you won't find yourself putting on weight again once you've reached your target . They gave me a 1200 calorie intake as well and I'm getting there in no time, even with pretty healthy eating!! You can see the nutritional percentages by clicking on home and weekly summary (that's on the iPhone app). Online there are really sophisticated reports -- you can do one for each nutrient! Just click on reports. Good luck!

Weightloss on 1200 calories per day is definitely attainable. 900 is extremely low and it would not allow for much to eat at all, you would have to miss out a meal to meet that figure.

I see further down this thread you said you were going to move to 1200 calories per day. Best wishes with your weightloss, I am sure you will succeed if you persevere :flowerforyou:
