Hi

I have not done any of my usual exercise regime for the past week due to having & cold & cough (so no energy & felt crap). I now feel much better generally & energy wise although I still have the cough & some sinus pain (so not getting a brilliant nights sleep!!) However I am mindful of doing things too soon & it all coming back!!

Just would like to see what people think really but I am doing my first marathon (well planning to) at end April. I have already done two HMs one being the end of last November so have therefore done some recent training. I was due to start a 16 week training plan last week for the marathon but with my cold I took the week off.

My doctor has told me I have a slight infection in my right lung which is why I am still coughing so has prescribed antibiotics for a week starting today. I was going to go back to the gym possibly 3 times this week for a spin, xtrainer & kettle bells class & then try a run at the weekend if felt ok. Does this seem reasonable if I feel ok or should I only go twice or not at all?

I don't want to abandon the marathon plan just yet but do you think I would still have plenty of time to catch up even if I don't do too much this week over the remaining 14 weeks?

So annoying as can't do anything about being ill - just very frustrating as missing the gym & my running!!!

Thanks very much.
