New here, but NOT to dieting!

I'm just starting to use MFP. I've been on Nutrisystem since May, 2011 and have lost about 65 lbs. I've only got a few days worth of data in here but I'm planning on logging religiously--I much prefer this site for food logging! I seem to plateau frequently, break through the plateau, and then plateau yet again!

I'm 5'1", 58 yrs old female and have yo-yo dieted my entire life. I've been following Nutrisystem 100% on plan for many months, including weighing and measuring food items. I'm a scientist and I carry that precision into my personal life and diets. At the moment I'm recovering from hip replacement surgery in early December. I'm 5 1/2 weeks out and just starting back exercising again. I've been treadmilling 40 mins/day in 20 min intervals, but am not sure if I should be doing this yet - I'll ask at PT (physical therapy) this afternoon.

I'm looking forward to all the advice and guidance I can get on this journey. I want to lose another 40-50 lbs and am willing to put in the work to do so.

My ticker only shows 18 lbs lost, but that's because I signed up here in October 2011--it doesn't show my true loss or any stats from signup until just the last few days. My actual start weight was 237.5 lbs. and as of this morning I've lost 65.9 lbs, and I weigh 171.6. I've been fluctuating in the 170-173 range since Christmas week and need to break through!
