How do I count Calories for home made soup?

I have made a home made soup but I don’t know how to count the calories in it. Because I am not going to eat it all in one setting, so I can’t just put 1 can corn and one carrot (ECT) in my food diary.

Please tell me how?

Thanks!

click on recipes and add the ingredients in and the number of servings and it will calculate it for you. ;-)

Under the food section is a recipe tab. You can enter each ingredient and get a total for the entire dish and divide by number of servicing. It kind of slow going at first, but gets easier with use. I have many soup recipes and main dishes in my recipes.

Put all ingredients and how many servings....

Also if you have the app you can scan barcodes on products you are using too. It can help with time of inputting it.

Before I started using the recipe tool I would just weigh all of my ingredients and then get the info off of calorie king. I find their database a bit more complete than mfp since they have more options of measurements on more ingredients. A food scale helps with this.

However, I did try with the recipe tool, and it works a lot easier! Yay!

The hardest thing about soup is how many servings it ends up being. Sometimes my soup is 13 cups, and other times it's 8. And you can't really get the final count without the servings. What helps me with this is placing leftover soup into my lunch containers and counting instead of throwing the pot into the fridge.

Thanks so much for the info!

But now i have another question. Can i go back and change the Recipe after it is done cooking? i have input all the ingredents but i have no idea how many servings(i am assuming cups) that it is going to be. So i was thinking of letting it cook down, cool then messuer it out?

Yes - but if you've already counted it in your food diary, you'll need to delete it and re-add it so that it accepts the changes there. I do that all the time because of the serving sizes changing when I'm done cooking/eating.
