I'm cold and there's wolves after me!

But really, today is my first day of the Learn to Run program at my local running club. I did one day of c25k last week and nearly died. So I'm very nervous about tonight. Pointers for brand new runners? Particularly those that run outdoors in -30.

  • I did a program this past fall. I learned to dress in layers (once you get going you get hot), slow down (the coaches made sure we could talk or they made us slow down until we could), shoes are the most important part of your outfit so get fitted for them, always have water with you. Most important was that everyone was there with similar goals and most of them were new to it too. You won't be last and even if you are you're beating the person still on their couch.
