I made a smoothie with strawberries and rapberries. Bamm gone goes the sugar allotment for the day. WOW. Turkey meat rollups all day I guess

Do you allow for an amount of refined sugars and complex sugars or just one allowance?0

I just go by sugar in my food journal. It says -3 for the day and all I have had is skim milk, dannon light yogurt, ice , strawberries and raspberries. OFf to a great start :mad:0

I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as your sugar comes from fruit and veggies. Its the refined sugar that's bad. Unless you're on a diet that specifically restricts all sugar.
(At least that's the conclusion I came to after watching that number for a week or so. I can't feel bad about sugar that came from fresh fruit and veggies)0 -

I have to agree, controlling sugar intake is wise but simple sugars need to be looked at differently then complex.0 -
I just read an article in a magazine that you shouldn't worry so much about the natural sugars (like those found in milk and fruits and veggies) because the benefits of those foods are so much higher. The main sugars to focus on and limit are the added sugars. I believe the article said to stay below 40g of added sugar.
I really wish this site would differentiate between the two... alas0 -

thats a can of coke.... and I used to drink 10 cans per day....Thank God I m free from it...
