sides dishes

I was curious about finding something good to have with my healthy dinners. I don't mind having a side salad for lunch but I am getting burned out on having chicken with salad, fish with salad etc. Any idea on some good, tasty and filling side dishes

    Options
    seasoned green beans:
    steam some fresh green beans
    add a tad of melted butter to help the seasonings stick
    add equal parts chili powder and seasoned salt
    add about half as much of garlic and onion powder


    glazed carrots:
    about 1lb carrots, steamed
    ~2T brown sugar
    1 packet of ranch dressing mix (the dry stuff)
    sounds weird, tastes good.


    corn and black bean salad:
    1 can or corn and black beans, drained (or their non canned equilivent)
    2 tomatoes, 1 onion, some cilantro and garlic cloves chopped

    Mix those together and then drizzle this dressing over the top:
    2T sugar
    2T white vinegar
    .5T olive oil
    bit of lime juice, salt, cumin and pepper to taste.

    And as an added bonus, most of their recipes have the nutrition on the bottom so it will be easy to insert in here :smile:
