What's a good core excercise to do to complement my running?

I want to tone up my abs, and for a while kettle bell exercises seemed to do the trick. I had to stop the KB workout though because after a workout, my legs tend to be sore, and it affects my running. Sit ups and crunches are not good because I get pain in my tail bone when I do them. Are there any weight training that will target my abs?

You can always do plank exercises or floor bridges ( google that one)... Those may look funny but they give your core a great work out. Also, you can do reverse crunches which the majority of the movement is on the lower waste so it shouldnt hurt your back as much.0
