Hello everyone my name is Josh, i'm 21 years old, and today i've started my personal mission to get down to 200 pounds. I am currently at 287 and my weekly goal is to lose one pound a week. I have severe asthma and medications that make it hard to lose and keep weight off but i'm gonna give it my best go. It's gonna be a long journey but I gotta keep focused and do this.

Hey, Josh! Welcome to MFP. One pound a week is a nice, healthy goal! You CAN do it and a big step in weight loss is just tracking what you put into your body. Good luck with everything!

Hi Josh! I too have asthma and I am on a daily medication for it. It was tough when I first started working out; I was always out of breath and sometimes would have to use my rescue inhaler after cardio to keep an exercise-induced attack at bay. After a year of working out, I no longer have to use my rescue inhaler and my doc says she may wean me off the daily! My cholesterol has come down and my blood pressure is now within a normal range instead of pre-hypertensive. It will take hard work and dedication but the benefits will be worth it!! My advice, don't let the missteps get you down. That was my major issue and being on MFP has helped me realize that if I goof up today, its not the end of the world. Everyone is super supportive and helpful when I have questions. Good luck on your journey!!
