Please read the articles on these websites before you do any more HCG.
HCG does NOTHING to help you maintain muscle while you follow their 500 calorie a day diet plan, and if you do this diet, you will barely have enough energy to get through a normal day, much less heavy exercise routines.
Scientific studies have concluded that HCG does not "work" any better than a placebo for weight loss, or have any of the benefits HCG promoters claim.. The ONLY reason you lose weight on that plan is the dangerously low calorie restrictions. MFP recommends you eat at least 1,200 calories a day, and the HCG diet plan only allows you to have 500 calories a day.
I know some people that put their faith in the HCG diet, and became very ill from malnutrition as a result. I hope you can return the HCG stuff and get your money back.
The Government is now in the process of getting all that fraudulent stuff off the market, and it's about time!

I will just clarify that I dont know anything about the HCG diet but will say that what I learned while losing 140 lbs is that proper nutrition is key. I workout daily (lifting and cardio) and when my calories are too low, my workouts suffered. Plus for me anything more than 1000 calorie deficit will stop my weight loss. The best approach for me was proper nutrition, figuring out my calorie deficit to lose 1-2 lbs a week and working out.0

I don't really think it's going to be possible for you to maintain muscle mass with that kind of calorie deficit. (Indeed, don't the HCG types recommend you don't exercise at all?)
I'd strongly suggest that if you wish to continue to work out like a demon, you look at upping your intake, turfing the placebo (HCG has been demonstrated for decades to have no positive effect at all), and enjoy a healthy, happy and comfortable lifestyle.
Best of luck.0 -

You are not supposed to workout on HCG due to the low cal intake. On this diet you will lose a lot of muscle most likely 1lb for every 2-4 lbs of fat you lose. With only 50lbs to go HCG is not right for you. It is meant for the morbidly obese.0 -

What would drive you to do this? Anyway... Good luck, Champ. :flowerforyou:0 -
Don't. It's a really bad idea. You will lose alot of muscle mass and it will take months and years gain it back.0
