Im in week 7 of C25K and have done a 20 min "run" so far.......but really I struggle anywhere between 6- 10 minute lengths and have to push through.....Im finding that if I walk for about 20 seconds I can take off again, but not do the run continuously. I know its not perfect but "close enough and keep on trying" is my motto for now. I dont stop at the end of the training either, I finish the program then keep jog/walk/jogging to make it a full hour workout each time.

My aim is to get through the C25K (to say I CAN run 5 k's straight) and then change to just 1 hour jog/walk/jogging 4 days a week, improving on the distance I do in the hour as my motivation.

Sooo......my real question is: Is there any benefits in being able to jog for huge intervals WITHOUT a single break in between? Or as long as I keep my heartrate up is what Im doing going to be ok? eg 5- 10 min jog/ 30 sec walk intervals compared to slow continuous jog the whole time

Hope this makes sense :)

I don't see a problem with taking breaks as long as you keep your heart rate up. Maybe try adding a minute to your run time when it becomes easier and gradually add on minutes until you're up where you want to be. you will obviously burn more calories running without breaks since your heart rate will be higher :D

I was wondering the same thing. I can run for about 10 mins then need to walk for 30 sec than can run again.
