Hey Everyone,
This is just a random topic due to some hardships going on lately. My nephew Holden (now 14 months) was born with congenital heart disease and over the past year has overgone 4 major procederes and has completely reshaped both his and our families lives. Enough with the sob story, but how I feel is--he never got a chance to make those decisions that would lead to such a life changing illness, but we do. Living a healthier life will not only decrease the chances of heart disease but hundreds of others as well. I'm posting this not only for my own release but to spread awareness as well. Every year, 36,000 children are born with a congenital heart disease-- while research is still being done on how to decrease this number, WE as grown-*kitten* adults can lower the number of adult cases, just by---doing anything. Last year I did my first American Heart Association walk, and have never been more proud of myself and the cause. I encourage you to support ANY cause and get up and get enrolled to walk/run/skip/jog/crawl your way through a sponsored event. I have an upcoming event in my state in June and I've included the link if you are curious how to get involved or walks in your area. Also, Meet Holden is a video we made for my nephew.

Thanks for listening to me ramble,

Lauren
