Not classical but my favorite performance ever was at the Drum Corps International World Championships this past summer. Carolina Crown was amazing. You can find it on YouTube.

My life has always been surrounded by music and many musician family members. Having spent 40 years studying drums (mostly jazz), orchestral percussion and piano - I'm now studying classical clarinet. No preferred era in any of this - like it all.

After my wife and child, music is my passion.

We're friends and I didn't know this! My son tours the country with Drum Corps International every summer. He has been competing in open class but he will be auditioning for a world class corps in a few weeks.

Cool! Your son has some worldclass chops = no doubt. That's such a unique talent and takes so much dedication to accomplish. Kudos to him! Please let me know how he does on the audition.
