Cheat Day

Not really sure what section to put this in so i'll just got for here. Do you allow yourself a cheat day or two? When I lost weight before something I found that kept me happy enough and going was to allow the weekend as a "off" peroid. Now i'm not talking about going crazy and devouring tons of food but things like having that candy you normally wouldn't, having a soda, or maybe going out to eat something you know is unhealthy with friends. I was still losing roughly a pound a week and it allowed the cravings I felt for the things I missed a kind of "happy" zone. Does anyone else do something similar and do you find it works? Now that i'm losing weight again i'm considering if I should do it or not.

I don't have cheat meals or cheat days. I eat what I want, when I want it. I do, however, eat it in moderation. For me a "cheat" meal or "cheat" day seems too much like a diet. Who wants to wait until a certain day to have a Reese's peanut butter cup or whatever? I would rather have it when I want it, account for it in my calories and move on with life. It's a lifestyle change and not a diet. I do far better with "moderation" than I do with deprivation most of the time and then "cheating" one meal or one day.

I will have one weekend out of the month as my cheat days so that I can stay on track and definitely not indulge so much over those 2 days that all my hard work for the month has been but to shame. It really depends on you what your goals are and how long you are giving yourself to get there, best of luck to you!
