How much is too much?

I am a mother of three children, 10, 7, and 5 months. I recently upped my tak-kwon-do classes from 2x a week to 3. My two oldest also take class, so they come with, and we're together for the evening. I am also considering adding crossfit to my regimen. Here is my problem: the closest gym that does Crossfit is 40 minutes away, and they require beginners to commit to 3x a week at first. I do need more to keep losing weight (at homw work outs DO NOT HAPPEN with kids), but at what point am I asking my kids to sacrifice too much? My little guy is home with me during the day, so he gets his time with me, but I don't know if I can consider tkd class as "quality" time for my older girls. My husband is deployed, so it's not like the kids can just stay home with dad; they would have to go to a baby sitter. What do you think- would it be selfish to add more to my schedule? What other options can you think of other than working out at home? Thanks for your help!

Remember that investing in your health is as much for your family as it is for you. Though I wouldn't commit to a program that requires minimum attendance until you know of its going to work, I would say that if you find a gym that works--the time is worth because it will enhance your life and lengthen it!!0

I have been taking tkd for 6 years. My son started first, then my husband & I both started together to do something as a couple. I am now a 2nd degree BB. My son & I took our 1st degree test together and we will always have that shared experience. If your girls enjoy it I am sure they enjoy it more being able to do it WITH you...any time spent together is Quality Time. You need to take care of yourself so you can take care of your family while your husband is away. I agree that signing up for a program that has a minimum attendance may not be the best fit for you, especially with over a hour of travel time.0
