Is it better to start with a low short term goal than to enter your ~*ideal*~ goal? Do you change your goal as you lose more weight?
I think it would be more motivational to achieve a more realistic weight loss goal and then keep going, but I wanted to know what is working for others?

When I first joined the site, I started with my long term goal. I realized a day after I joined that I wanted to lose 5 more pounds so I changed it.
I think about the long term goal, but then I set other short term goals for myself on a weekly basis. If I see some change on the scale, in the shape of my body, or the way I feel in general, I feel like I have made progress and get motivation from it. Last week, I was proud to burn my weekly goal in calories. This week, I'm trying to drink more water and finish my whole workout. I am posting my goals in my blog and updating at the end of the week to track my progress.
This has been working for me so far!0
