Weight loss help

Since last may noticed that my weight has been the same as it is today. I have a picture from may of my first 5k and I looked a lot bigger then I am today. I definitely have more muscle now then I did in that picture. What is annoying though is I have been at 225 since then and although I seem to be gaining muscle, why wouldn't I have lost weight since then? It's confusing, how can I maintain the same weight for so long yet look different? I know muscle is more dense than fat is and therefor takes up let room but weight doesn't actually drop. I would have thought in weight by now. Confusing.
