Woke up to this headline in the Wall Street Journal...
Twinkies Maker Hostess Files for Chapter 11 Protection

Hostess Brands Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Wednesday to confront burdensome debt and labor costs that the Twinkies and Wonder Bread baker says have left it fighting to compete.

    one the one hand, i want to cheer b/c maybe this means ppl aren't eating that crap.

    LOL'd hard at this one! Not a fan of any of the above but definitely will keep them in mind, because gross or not - that's a lot of jobs. =(

    I'm in the UK and I've got a box of Twinkies in the cupboard! Well, there's 2 left and they've been there since July last year... but I'm guessing with the amount of cr*p in them they'll probably still be OK to eat lol

    They can't get rid of Twinkies etc :( I'm visiting the US in October and I was looking forward to trying more rubbish :D

    Well, twinkies don't *ever* spoil so anyone who steal eats that mystery sweet can hoard whats left in stores and eat them slowly over time... lol!

    My prayers do go out to those who are losing their jobs because of this though.

    I'm shocked... when some friends from Ireland came to visit, there one request was "Please get us twinkies" b/c they couldn't by them in their town *LOL* They're internationally loved!! :)

    According to the article, it has more to do with heavy burdens placed on them by the unions (imagine that) than any drop in sales.
