In tracking my food every day I am within my calories but my protein count is always high. Do I have to stay at the recommended amount or s it OK to go over by a fair amount.

I go over my protein every day because protein keeps me feeling full. Just don't forget the extra water you'll need to digest it.0

The amount that MFP recommends is based on a default percentage and is actually quite low. Consider it a minimum and TRY to get more than that. You can also actually go into your food diary settings and change that percentage if you want. Click on 'my home' then click on 'goals', click 'change goals' and choose the 'custom' option if you'd like to be able to change the percentages (splits between carbs/fat/protein - you can change the ratios to fit your needs).
My diary recommends somewhere around 50g per day iirc, but I shoot for at least 100g per day.0 -
Try getting more protein from sources other than animal too - but the way this "program" is set up is that you can decide what ratio is best for you...so if you like lots of protein, that's ok!0
