"I'm not on a diet...."

Hey everyone!! I've been doing this for about 2 months now and am loving it so far. I've only lost about 12 pounds so far but my clothes are fitting much looser and I've finally have extra energy to spare. I actually want to go workout. I never thought I'd ever feel that way. LOL

I'm looking for some friends that actually like to cook and aren't afraid to take their childhood recipes and make them better. I've had a lot of success taking my recipes and cutting the calories by 30-50% by making better choices for the ingredients. I don't have it all figured out, but I feel like I'm on the right path.

I never want to feel like I'm on a diet... I can't handle the mental frustration of it. One little mistake and I'm crashing into a bad depression for a couple weeks. And for those of you that suffer from depression you know how vicious that cycle can be.

I'm sure the die hard fitness fanatics will look at my food diary and will just shake their heads... They'll tell me about all the wrong choices I'm making and how I could eat a lot "cleaner". But for right now, this is my path and I'm happy with it.

I'm basically looking for friends that like to eat real food. I can't afford a lot at the moment so I need to eat up what I have and as I move forward I'll definitely make better choices.

Anyone else out there like me? :)

    Yesssss!!! Please add me! :)
  • Hey there! I feel similar. I love food, all kinds, especially meaty, greasy, fatty kinds. I've really been challenging myself to incorporate more raw foods and healthy options, and recreate the foods that I love. It has been fun, and hubby has finally brought into it (he was miserable at first, lol). I figure that I have to start somewhere and I love the changes that I've made, especially the water consumption. Keep at it. All the changes count. Don't starve yourself or jump into something that you can't commit to. One day at a time :)

I am with you there! It s a lifestyle change for me. I don't want to be remembered as someone that was always on a diet. I want to enjoy life and food. I also am remembering how much I love to cook and how much I love veggies! I think husband and kids and family craziness, gets us so busy that we go for quick and easy..I can do that..but make it healthy too!

I can have whatever I want pretty much, its all about portion and not over indulging.

I also know that i have to exercise. It just makes me feel better all around.
  • Wow... I'm so glad to see there are other people out there like myself. That just like to eat real food!!

So what if it's not real peanut butter, I can still enjoy it... right?!? :)
