I got a juicer for Christmas that I'm anxious to use but need some tips. Anyone know of any good juice recipes, websites, links, or anything that would get me going? Also, if you juice do you do anything with the pulp that is left behind? I know some use it in recipes sometimes so those types of tips would be great too.

It's a juicing share... please feel free to share any and all info that may be useful! Thanks!!

    Hello

This may help...there are a few recipes on here: http://www.juicemaster.com/
I'm currently doing the 'Turbo charge' book and i'm drinking a juice made up of:
4 x Golden Delicious Apples (1/2 in the blender)
    1/4 of a pineapple
    1/4 of a lime
1/2 an avacado (don't juice, whizz in blender with juice)
    1/3 cucumber
    2 celery sticks
    and a handful of spinach

It sounds awful but actually tastes great!
    Have fun juicing :O)

My husband and I juice almost daily with this combination.

    12 carrots
    green pepper
    maybe 4 cups of broccoli
    beet or a half
a couple of big handfuls of spinach
    cucumber

This is an estimate of what we put in there. We have our kids on a rotation making this for us, and then we split this recipe. I have this at about 95 calories for about 12 ounces.

my all time favorite.. my mom made it when i was younger and I loved it as a kid and still do!

    Apples, Carrots, Celery, Beets.

When I juice I just kind of throw stuff together I used to try to write it down in case I loved it. but I rarely do that,

I'd say go with 2 apples, 2 large carrots, 3 celery stalks, 1/2-1 small beet. Beautiful and sweet, an easy way to ease into juicing.

I also like: to juice cabbage, and maybe add some carrot or apple with it. I normally add some apple to everything. Everything I have read says to juice fruits and vegetables seperate apart from apples. Apples are the only fruit you can juice with vegetables because of the 'whatevers' you need to digest fruits vs vegetables

you can check out www.juicingbook.com great insight and quite a few recipes. It also gives you a breakdown on certain fruits and veggies and what they are good for. I don't agree with everything he says but it's still a go to for information. Hope this helps!

My favorite is Marta Stewarts "Green Juice"

1 large bunch of fresh spinach, stems and all
    1 cucumber
    1 bunch of parsley
    3 celery stalks
    1 corner of fresh ginger
    1 granny smith apple
    1 d'anjou pear

This recipe makes enough for about 4 cups, I drink 2 cups the morning of, and the last 2 cups the next morning. It's better if you drink it right away so if you do, just halve the recipe.

Gives me loads of energy. I love my juicer, but HATE cleaning the filter...

This may not be helpful but I usually just throw a bunch of stuff that I like in there based on what I have in the fridge. Some examples include:
    2 celery stalks
    2 carrots
    1 apple
1-2 inch piece of fresh ginger
    parsley
a couple hand fulls of fresh greens (lettuce, kale, spinach)
    1 lemon or lime

I typically use celery, carrots and lime/lemon in every juice I've made so far. I also love beets and grapefruit so I'll add that to my portion after my husband gets his.

    2 celery stalks
    2 carrots
    1 cucumber
    2 hand fulls of greens
    parsley
    cilantro
    lime/lemon

I purchased the Juicing Bible which has a lot of wonderful ideas. Good luck!

I regularly use the juice recipes I've posted here: http://www.rillsmenu.com/p/juice-recipes.html

But my favorite is definitely the Sweet Greens
    Spinach - 3 good handfuls
    2 Green Apples
    1/4 Lime - peeled
1-2 inch slice of Pineapple - rind removed
    2 medium Cucumbers - peeled

    My two favourites are...

    1/2 granny smith apple
    4 carrots
    4 stalks celery
    small knob of Ginger

6 leaves romaine lettuce ( or other greens, i.e. spinach, kale)
    4 stalks celery
    1/2 English cucumber
    1/2 granny smith apple
    1/4 lemon with rind
    sometimes add a 1/2 beet

Depending on how fresh and juicy your produce is, these recipes yield different amounts, but you should have more than enough for one serving.
