Difference Between Cycling and Spinning

Does anyone know the difference between cycling on a stationary bike and spinning on the exercise database? I noticed that the calorie burn for spinning is quite a bit lower. I go to a spinning class that's pretty intense, and I'm not sure which one to track my time under. Thanks!
