Just came across this article.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html

PS: I am all about eating well and eating less (or normal when maintaining), in case someone thinks I am promoting eating crap. :)

    Eating well, Eat more!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hear, hear!

I tried something like the twinkie diet years many years ago. Low calorie diet but I made sure I had enough calories that at the end of the day, my dinner was 2 cookies. I was run down, starved, cranky but it felt like a good trade because I was eating cookies! It's no way to live.

I eat much more and more nutrient dense food and I am much happier and healthier for it.

From the story- " His premise: That in weight loss, pure calorie counting is what matters most -- not the nutritional value of the food."

Ant this is true, yet naive.. everything being equal, the calorie deficit determines how much is lost, the macros determine what is lost.
