How long do/did you use MFP?

So, I'm a bit past the halfway mark for my goal. MFP has been a great help, but at some point I assume (perhaps incorrectly?) that once people have retrained themselves to eat better and gain better intuition and understanding of their diet, they stop using it. Is that so? If so, at what point do people do that? Once the goal is reached? When they feel they don't need it anymore?

I took a week without tracking through MFP and found that I was still on track, losing the weight I expected to. So, perhaps my brain is on-target and I shouldn't expect any ill effects if I stop using it. Even so, I'm inclined to keep going just so I can have a record as I refine my personal rules more and more... If nothing else, it's a great way to track what worked and what didn't.

Any thoughts?
