i refuse to believe my three kids will grow into teenagers. I'm giving them lots of coffee and cigarettes to stunt their growth.

They can definitely be monstrous beasts. They have their moments of basic decency though. At 16 and a half, my son seems on the downward slope towards normal. I hope.

My mom has a sign in her kitchen that says:

"Mothers of teenagers know why animals eat their young."

    This seems reasonable.

I am pretty lucky, I have 3 teens and they are all pretty evenly tempered and agreeable people. Of course, I have been told by others with kids who were like that as teens became obnoxious in their college years instead. So maybe I have that to look forward to.

My 16, soon to be 17, year old daughter likes to remind me that teenagers aren't responsible for their actions or emotions, because their pre-frontal lobe isn't fully developed. Yay for high school psychology class.
  • I have 4 teenagers... 13, 14, 16, 17. My house is raging with hormones. I hear ya.

Mine tried that on me. I told them that until the time it develops then, I AM that part of their brain. It's the part that says "That is stupid. Don't do that."

I have pretty good kids and my teen girls are really wonderful to be around, most of the time. Funny enough, just like their mom! :D I have been known to tell them not to try using their attitude on me. Mine is much bigger and I've had years of practice so I can wield it with deadly precision. If they put their pithy little teen hormones up against my peri-menopause hormones I will win and they will be casualties. They know I'm right too. One of them got to clean the chicken coop because she brought her attitude out. :)

LOL! That is so epic. And true too. I drove my parents bat**** crazy with my teenage antics. I feel so bad for them. My sisters have turned out to be pretty calm but are up to no good still. Obviously won't nark on them but still... my parents really have had it cut out for them.

I was a CRAZY teenager but the most boring and drab 20 year old. I got married at 20 and just up and settled right down. In school and in a happy normal marriage with a stable income. Nothing dramatic EVER happens. Love it!

Makes me wonder how my sisters will turn out. My middle one was very calm but sneaky in high school and seems to be going nuts in college but in her own quiet way. She just opened up to me about all the crazy stuff she's been doing lol.

My youngest sister is basically idolizing playboy at the age of 16. :( Hopefully learns real quick it isn't the best idea at that age... Oh well! Guess everyone has their own quirks.
