My MFP is set up for 55% Carbs , 30% Fat & 15% Protein ... Im always over on the Fat , short on the Carbs .. I don't eat a lot of fat foods . Lookin at my foods today very few them was over 6 gms fat with the exception of the 1oz or more of almonds I eat every day . 1oz is 16 gms fat . And lot of times I have way more almonds than that . I was under the impression they were the good fats like Olive Oil .. Could the almonds be skewing my %'s ? I eat a organic spinach salad everyday with almonds and dressing I make myself with vinegar & EVOO ..

15% fat is pretty low. Certain fats are great for you- the fat in almonds and in olive oil, for example. I recently read an article that just 1/4 cup of almonds per week significantly reduced the risks of developing heart disease, so that makes almonds a must-have in my book. It's totally your call, but I'd consider upping your fat percentage if the red numbers bother you. You don't want to go hog-wild, but you don't need to be afraid of fats either.

Doh! I miss read that! Your fats are at 30%, not 15%. Still... my advice is the same. I don't know that I'd advise chugging olive oil or anything like that, but I'm not sure it's worth really worry if your a little over on fat each day. There's nothing magic about 30%. It's just one of many possible goals.
  • I try to stick to 40/30/30, Carbs/Fat/Protein. That works for me, but sometimes I cut back the carbs and up the fat and protein.

    This. Exactly.

And just keep aiming for healthy fats, which you are already doing. I'm almost always over on fat and I don't sweat it too much.

That sounds like a good ratio I may switch to that I am at 50/30/20 right now. Either that or 45/35/25 :)

A ratio is great to refer what "you" are on, or for your own reference but it's not a wise idea to follow someone elses ratio. Instead, aim for something along the lines of 1g of protein and .35 - .4 g fat per lb of body weight. Then, using the custom goals, set up your MFP.

But I am doing a Moderate carb diet. (low carb, I can just eat around 90-ish and still lose. any higher and i gain)
