today wasn't a great eating day for me, I usually eat a huge breakfast but lately for some reason i'm not doing that, maybe stress, i dunno....but here's the thing I have a ridiculous amount of calories left over and i'm plain out not hungry...so what do I do? I don't eat nuts of any kind..so there goes that, including pb, it's almost 10 p.m here and i'm ready to go to bed....and the bagel, lol...was literally one bite of my daughters snack, but didn't taste nearly as good as it smelled...any help...this is becoming a trend for me, this low eating, heavy exercising is becoming a scary habit...any suggestions?
oh gotta edit, not all the snacks are eaten at snack times, it's just where I have them and don't want to look up the food evertime..i'm just lazy..the grapes, egg, were also for breakfast.

I mix it in oatmeal for breakfast...
with ice , water and bluberries
with ice water and pnut butter
with milk
with fage yogurt
not with juice...too much sugar in juice0 -
does that up the calorie count as well, the powder itself? or just the protein? any recommendations?0
-
the not hungry part
is the burning plus 1400 new? body might be adjusting if that was a sudden increase in exercise0 -

my powder is 87 cals a serving but they have"gainer" powder that is 230 cals a serving0 -
Wow! What are you doing for exercise??? I need that... I only burned 217 calories doing level one of 30 day shred. :grumble:0

no, it's not, that's what's so weird about this. I recently had some bad news about a loved one, stress...lack of sleep, the whole nine yards, and my appetite is just gone, I figured i'd get over it, but it hasn't happened, I wonder if stress can cause this?? and even with the shreddies at lunch, it was one cup, with milk, and I couldn't even finish it :noway:0

I did two hot yoga classes, a step class, 1 hour in the pool swimming laps, the elliptical for anhour and 40 minutes of weight lifting..i'm little psycho with the exercise, I love it, I just wished I liked to eat, I really don't like it, and that seems to be a strange thing.....btw, it feels so incredibly strange to post my food diary on here, almost as if I had toilet paper stuck to my shoe....odd0 -
I'll give you some of my appetite! :flowerforyou::laugh:0
-
btw, when I finished entering my diary...it said, if everyday were like today, you'd be Nicole Ritchie :laugh:0

Depression can also cause loss of appetite and inability to sleep. Something you might consider depending on what the bad news was you recieved. I agree you need more protein too - it made all the difference for me. I mix mine with milk most of the time right after I work out. Hang in there!0

I wish I could NOT make myself eat enough! hardy har har. But seriously, I agree with Dave. Protein. I have a chocolate whey protein shake that I mix with ice and rice milk in the blender. You can also use frozen berries and make a smoothie. You can mix protein shakes with water or lowfat milk and ice.0

Can't hurt to check it out. We women are usually so busy taking care of everyone else that we ignore ourselves. Good that you're exercising but maybe you need to lighten up a bit on it and do something nurturing for yourself occasionally.:flowerforyou:0

are you training for some event? that is a serious amount of exercise and water loss. where do you get the energy on so little food? maybe even so much exercise is causing a decrease in appetite. try cutting back and see if desire and ability to eat returns.
depression causes insomnia, appetite changes (+ or -), sadness, and foods that you used to like can taste different-even yukky (like how you just barely could eat the shreddies). definitely something to get checked though there's no quick way to know or treat (unless it's acute depression).
anyway, hope this information helps.0 -

This has been going on for almost a week, and honestly I can't keep it up much longer, I have a photo shoot that I need to be in tip top shape for...so that pressure sure as heck doesn't help me much, plus the 14 kids isn't helping, two are off to live with their maternal grandparents in a few weeks, so that'll help a little, but I don't know where the energy comes from, i'm just about tapped out though, I keep thinking that if I try to keep things the same, the appetite will follow, typically 1600+cals a day, but it's not happening0 -
Are you anxious with your stress? Generalized anxiety disorder and depression can sometimes go hand in hand.....0
-
Okay everyone, I think we all need to be careful with diagnosing someone with depression-that is serious and (I don't think) anyone is a psychiarist here.
Anyways, there can be many reasons for appetite loss and bad news is definitely one of them, but that doesn't mean your depressed. Wait it out for a while and maybe cut back on the exercise-it might actually be stressing you out more. And if it persists for a long time (3-4 months) then I would definitely see a doctor.
It could just be a change in your hormones or something...Are you getting regular sleep? Are there anyonther regular patterns that have been thrown off kilter? Check out your lifestyle and patterns first... and GOOD LUCK!0 -
All that exercise acts as an appetite suppressant. Exercising causes a certain nervous system to increase its activity, and it suppresses appetite and digestion. Chronic over-exercising causes cortisol release, which breaks down muscle mass and increases blood sugar. There's really no reason to overdo it. I have gone bonkers with classes before because I too love exercising, but I always keep in mind that more is not necessarily better.:flowerforyou:0

ok, I get that, but what happens when it's your paycheck? The step and yoga classes aren't optional, I own my own business, and trying to branch out....the swimming is due to a disabled foster child I have and it's part of his therapy, I can go without the elliptical though...gonna scratch that off...so that leaves me in the same place:grumble: .....is there something I can do to kick start the appetite? and I did buy chocolate protein powder, added it to skim milk, and it tastes like caca  I'll be able to hire another instructor next month when things with the bed and breafkfast pick up, but until then, I only have two other employees that i've stretched to the max. :sad:0 -
Hi
I would def try and bump up b-fast.....how about just 1 package of low sugar oatmeal and add some flax seed or protein powder to the oatmeal or add a yogurt to b-fast...they sell a good mix at TJ and you could mix it with milk or soy milk
How about string cheese?
Good luck, Kim0 -
 ok...the verdict is in...I went to my doc, and i'm not depressed, i'm just plain out crazy! , that's what he told me!! he said with 14 kids, and two business on the go, he's surprised it's taken me this long before I came to visit him. After all the pokes, blood work, and such, tuns out I have a low Iron count, enough to consider me anemic!! hot damn, not great news, but better than being depressed. He said that seriously low iron counts, make you tired, lo9ss of appetite, he can't really understand where the energy for the workouts are coming from, he explained it as that my body is simply conditioned for it after sooo many years of the same ol same ol....so there it is, I actually have to get injections, which really suck poo, but hey. it's good to know i ain't gonna die! , it's weird when we self diagnose, we tend to have every disease known to mankind!! but all's good, I will be the new IRON WOMAN....watch out Robert downey jr...cause I look wicked in spandex  ..me and my iron spandex suit,...wooohooo...now i'm babbling, but dang I feel better!0
