'Catching up' on food?

So yesterday I wasn't hungry at all - I had a small salad of tuna, avocado and tomato in the evening and that was all. I just wasn't feeling 100% and not hungry.
Today however, I'm ravenous! I had a hearty lunch with tuna, avocado, tomato, cucumber and feta cheese around midday, an apple as a snack and some veggie soup when I got in from the office around 4pm. I've also got a pork steak out of the freezer to have with some veggies after I've done my work-out at the gym.
Is it possible for your body to want to 'catch up' on food - and if so does negate any hard work being done? What I don't want to do is pig out today and compromise any weight loss.... confusing!
