Building a Support Network

Hi! My name is Sophia, and I have big plans for myself for 2012. This is going to be the year I get back in shape and lose the weight that has crept up on me the last several years... I have local friends and workout partners, but I'm looking to create more of a support network for myself to help keep me accountable.

I have just started a Couch to 5K workout schedule and intend on jogging a 5K on March 31st. I don't like running much, but I want to push myself and need goals to push towards. I used to be athletic and I want that body back! (I have a long way to go!) I've also been walking with friends, playing Zumba on Wii, jumping rope, etc and will be getting a gym membership in the next few weeks.

I have a fiance and step daughter at home who I am hoping to influence through example on becoming more healthy, as well as goal setting and determination. Sometimes they make my nutrition goals more difficult, but not intentionally. The kiddo loves to play Just Dance 2 on Wii and ride her bike and my guy verbally helps keep me motivated (he hurt his back at work :( can't do much in the way of excercise and he is a traditional meat and tators guy), all of which helps, but we're trying to relearn portion control and to fight the laaaaaate night mindless snacking urges while getting more active.

My fiance and I are hoping to plan a wedding for this coming October, so that provides me with extra incentive to lose some pounds... not to mention I haven't worn a bathing suit since high school...
