Hello! I am new here and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what do they log on their fitness diary if what you used to work out is work out dvd's? The one I do has about 15 to 20 mins each of working Abs, legs, arms, butt. Is pretty intense but I don't know how to log it in. I also do ab work on my own in the AM like crunches and use the exercise ball and bands and I don't see how to log it either as a whole... any ideas anyone??
thank you!! aah also feel free to add me as a friend, I need inspiration!

Hi and welcome.
You can log your workout as calisthenics to cover that type of workout. Personally, I have found the calories burned estimates for exercises in the databases that I personally have used (including MFP's database) to be on the high side. One way to get a better estimate is to purchase a Heart Rate Monitor. You can create your own workouts in MFP and log your calories a bit more accurately that way.

Agreed! about HRM! It is so much more accurate and when I compare my HRM totals with MFP, MFP practically doubles the calorie burn. This can be detrimental for people who eat every single exercise calorie back!

i actually have a heart rate monitor... but aaww sorry if this question is stupid, I did google it but got nothing, how does it help me determine how many calories i burned? thank you for your answers btw
and theoneandonly that is what I actually logged it as for yesterday, I just don't want to feel like I cheated if you know what I mean.

Hmm my HRM actually tells me my estimated calorie burn. Google your specific model. I think most of them have this capability but I could be wrong.0

Before I had my HRM, I logged my Jillian Michaels DVDs as circuit training or calisthenics.
What type of HRM do you have? Does it have a chest strap and a watch or just a watch?0 -

I do the same by wearing my HRM. My treadmill usually estimates I have burned 80 more calories that my HRM.0
