Day 1

Well today was my first day of being serious about weight loss, i was about 75kg 3 years ago and am now at 106kg, kept telling myself if i reach 90kg i need to do something, then ok if i reach 95, then 105, then 110 , well i was at 108 2 weeks ago and every bone in my body is starting to feel like it is hurting, my leg joints are sore and forever having a sore back so the time is NOW no more excuse and no more "i will start tomorrow" .
I am not going to throw myself in the deep end and like other times expect too much from myself, have cut out the junk food which i don't really miss anyway, this weeks shopping list is full of fruit and veges. I am going in with one expectation, to feel better, and having my mind set to the weight loss being an added bonus.
Today after work was my first walk around the lake near us, I'm not sure how far the walk is but i walked around twice then up 2 steep but short hills to get home, and although my face was glowing like Rudolphs nose Xmas morning and my left foot was numb i felt fantastic and happy with myself. (btw does anyone know why this could happen and any tips on preventing it, makes my foot feel like a brick is in my shoe).
I must say also my best friend Bek has been a true inspiration also in getting my butt in to gear, she manages to be mum to 2 beautiful little girls and go to a personal trainer , gym, and jog at night and now looking even more fantastic than she already did, knowing she could do all that there certainly no excuse for me, i have no kids, no pets and nothing stopping me except myself.

I know what you mean with waiting and waiting on doing something abt the gain.. That said, good luck with your journey
I think - the most important thing to think about if you are going to start walking longer walks - or maybe jog/run even is that you get your self some proper shoes with proper support for your feet.
I had the same problem that you are having and it really helped to get some new shoes. I invested in a good pair of running shoes with good padding and it is so much better now. You can hit stores like Nike store and have them find the right shoes for you.

Thanks guys, I have also decided to not tell my family this time either just so i don't have that added pressure of whether i am going to fail them as well as myself, so far only my best friend, partner and you guys know so shhhhhh lol .
Yeah kittz def gonna have to get new shoes, the ones i am using are ones i brought 2 years ago at an attempt to lose weight which they didn't get used all that much for that instead they became every day shoes so are a little worn now, my plan is to buy myself a new pair as a reward for sticking to the walking and eating healthy for a month.0
