Do you think you fine folks here at MFP had anything to do with that?

I LOVE Twinkies and if I find out any of you people had anything to do with this....

Not to worry, they already said that the products will continue to be manufactured no matter what. They are just restructuring debt, the twinkies will still be available for a long, long, time.

And really, even if they cease production of Twinkies, it's not like the ones they've already made will expire! Stock up!

    What are twinkies?

To some, they are a little slice of heaven on earth, and as a child they are as necessary as the air you breath.

To others they sympolize the ultimate incarnation of modern day food manufacturing and marketing gone wrong, a food product with absolutely no nutritional value made up of mostly artificial ingredients and with a shelf-life rumored to outlast the half-life of uranium.

My MIL shipped my daughter a box of twinkies in with our xmas prezzies. My neighbour was over to have dinner and saw them and just begged for one. He had been in the US about 7 years ago and tried one and hadn't had one since. So we gave him one and he sat it next to his plate and carried it around most the night till he ate it. He was not impressed! He did say it didn't taste as good as it did the first time. I asked him if he wanted me to request a box in our next care package from the US and he said no!

I think we should all reconsider this whole Twinkie not being good for you, thing.

I've done my part. I make twinkie cakes Thanksgiving and Christmas. The season won't be the same without them. Hope they find a way to keep them around. :)

Not a Twinkies fan, but definitely a Colts fan :))

I live in Houston and every year at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (which starts at the end of February) fried twinkies are a really big deal. along with fried brownies, fried snickers, etc....

It's their second bankruptcy and state they have the funds to get through it and keep up production. Chapter 11s are just restructurings to get rid of the old debt to make room for new debt :)

And from all the junk they are made from, they will be "edible" for years to come if you buy them now LOL
